Now that another summer has come and gone and we are all welcoming fall with open arms it is time to start transitioning not only your wardrobe but also your makeup into the fall season!! Most of the time that means adding a few darker shades of lipstick, or a more luminous foundation to your makeup bag. One thing however that we love about the spring/summer months is the gorgeous glow that you can achieve with a nice tan and a dewy finish to the skin. This can still carry over into the fall/winter months when you add a nice highlight to your routine. Now that you no longer have to worry as much about just looking like an oily, greasy, mess you can play around a little more with highlighters allowing you to achieve a nice sheen/glow even throughout the drier fall months!
The ones pictured above are some that I love and rotate through often. I love adding a highlight after my bronze/contour and blush and feel like it just pulls the whole look together! I would be careful not to go overboard with some of these that have a little more sparkle to them.
My two most used and favorites out of these are the two Becca Shimmering skin perfectors in opal and rose gold. I also can not get enough of the hourglass ambient lighting palette. I think this palette is a great deal for the three shades that you get and feel like these add a subtle glow to the skin perfect for fair skin or just starting out using highlighters. As you can see from the photos above one that really adds more of a frost to the skin is MAC soft and gentle. This one has a little more glitter to the powder creating a more metallic finish, and also looks really great as an inner corner highlight on the eyes! The TooFaced Candlelight Glow was the first high end highlighter that I purchased and I used non stop for months. This one has two sides to it so you can use each one individually or swirl your brush through both colors and get an even mixture. Out of all of these, this is the most golden/frost color of them all. My favorite highlight from the drugstore is this Hard Candy highlight in tiki. It is one of my favorites and for the price can not be beat! I picked mine up at our local Wal-Mart.
Add one of these highlighters right along the top of your cheek bones, down the middle of your nose, on the cupids bow, and a little to the chin to create that nice over all glow/sheen to the skin so that you can still look glowing and healthy all fall/winter long!

Let me know in the comments below what your favorite highlighters/ luminizers are and what is the main thing you switch up in your makeup routine for fall! I love to get recommendations on new things to try!
