Taco Soup

It's football season and the beginning of fall. Whether you have a house full of people on game days, or plan on spending a cold night inside snuggled up on the couch with a glass of wine. This recipe is sure to hit the spot!
- bag of fritos/tortilla chips
- 1lb of  ground beef
- 1 15oz can of ranch style beans
- 1 10 oz can of rotel
- 1 15 oz can of whole kernel corn
- 1 15 oz can of cream style sweet corn
- 1 8oz can tomato sauce
- 1 packet of dry salad dressing and seasoning mix
- 1 packet of taco seasoning mix
- 1 bag of shredded cheese
- 1 onion

- Be sure to spray the bottom of the pot with any non-stick spray
- Start off by adding a tablespoon of butter
- Cut up and dice the onion and throw it into the pot to saute
- Once the onion is sauteed go ahead and add in the ground meat
- Season the meat mixture how you normally would (we used a little bit of Tony's and garlic powder) and brown the ground meat with onion
- Once meat is browned add in all of the other canned ingredients (do not drain)
- Let it simmer and cook for about 10/15 minutes, stirring occasionally
- It is now ready to serve
- Add either frito / tortilla chips to the bottom of the bowl, scoop in taco soup, and top with cheese
- Enjoy!!

* We usually use tortilla chips but had Fritos on hand this time. My husband said he prefers it with the tortilla chips but both ways are delicious!

Now that another summer has come and gone and we are all welcoming fall with open arms it is time to start transitioning not only your wardrobe but also your makeup into the fall season!! Most of the time that means adding a few darker shades of lipstick, or a more luminous foundation to your makeup bag. One thing however that we love about the spring/summer months is the gorgeous glow that you can achieve with a nice tan and a dewy finish to the skin. This can still carry over into the fall/winter months when you add a nice highlight to your routine. Now that you no longer have to worry as much about just looking like an oily, greasy, mess you can play around a little more with highlighters allowing you to achieve a nice sheen/glow even throughout the drier fall months!
The ones pictured above are some that I love and rotate through often. I love adding a highlight after my bronze/contour and blush and feel like it just pulls the whole look together! I would be careful not to go overboard with some of these that have a little more sparkle to them.
My two most used and favorites out of these are the two Becca Shimmering skin perfectors in opal and rose gold. I also can not get enough of the hourglass ambient lighting palette. I think this palette is a great deal for the three shades that you get and feel like these add a subtle glow to the skin perfect for fair skin or just starting out using highlighters. As you can see from the photos above one that really adds more of a frost to the skin is MAC soft and gentle. This one has a little more glitter to the powder creating a more metallic finish, and also looks really great as an inner corner highlight on the eyes! The TooFaced Candlelight Glow was the first high end highlighter that I purchased and I used non stop for months. This one has two sides to it so you can use each one individually or swirl your brush through both colors and get an even mixture. Out of all of these, this is the most golden/frost color of them all. My favorite highlight from the drugstore is this Hard Candy highlight in tiki. It is one of my favorites and for the price can not be beat! I picked mine up at our local Wal-Mart.
Add one of these highlighters right along the top of your cheek bones, down the middle of your nose, on the cupids bow, and a little to the chin to create that nice over all glow/sheen to the skin so that you can still look glowing and healthy all fall/winter long!

Let me know in the comments below what your favorite highlighters/ luminizers are and what is the main thing you switch up in your makeup routine for fall! I love to get recommendations on new things to try!

Pamper Routine

I thought I would share some of my favorite products that I like to use when I decide to give myself a little spa pamper night! There is nothing better than a relaxing night in when you have time to just treat yourself with a nice bubble bath and a glass of wine, or simply taking a little extra time with your night time skincare routine.

I have been using the First Aid Beauty face wash for awhile now and love it. It is great for sensitive and oily skin types so it never irritates my skin. All of the GlamGlow masks are seriously amazing! If you have not tried one yet you must run to Sephora now and go get one (or a sample) to try out! I also recently got the Kate Somerville dilo oil as a sample packet to try out and it is now next on my splurge list! I got about a weeks worth of use out of the sample packet and honestly thought I noticed a difference within the first night!! Finally be sure to end your pamper night with a good moisturizer and freshly painted nails.

Go ahead girls you deserve it! Grab your favorite magazine, light a candle, pour you a glass of wine and relax with your favorite face mask on! Don't worry there is always time to clean the house later! ;)

Fall Lip Haul

I thought I would share a quick haul of the lip products that I have purchased recently with y'all. As you probably know I have a serious lipstick addiction and I am constantly adding to my collection. Now that we are officially heading into the Fall months I have started transitioning into more fall like shades. I have not yet ventured into a super deep vampy color, although I am sure I will eventually pick one up to try, but for now I am just wearing more nude, berry, and mauve pink colors. I have been loving the mauve lip colors inspired by Kylie Jenner lately which is why I picked up these two lip pencils that I love wearing on their own and paired with some of these other lipsticks! Let me know in the comments below which lipsticks you are loving for Fall and which I should try out next! :)

Ford Turns 3!!

I know I just did a post not long ago all about my golden boy, but today my baby boy turns THREE!! So of course I had to do a quick birthday post to celebrate. Plus, it's Friday and who doesn't love some cute puppy pictures on a Friday?! I know I'm just a little bit crazy ( #crazydogmomstatus) about this boy, but he just brings so much love and happiness to my life and I can not get enough of him! Like I said in my previous post I dreamed about the day I would get to pick this guy up and bring him home and to think that three years has already gone by with him makes me a little sad! I have loved every minute with this guy from the first night home of barking all night, accidental bathroom breaks on my floor, toy fuzz everywhere, growing, cuddling moment and I can not wait to have many more special moments like one day snuggles with (hopefully) our future children, and growing older together! Now because I am the type that is so crazy I could start to tear up over this at any moment I will just get on to sharing a couple of photos of this guy being the cute birthday boy that he is!! Enjoy!! :)

This one is just too funny :)

Thanks for reading! Hope Y'all have a great weekend!!

August Beauty Favorites

Oh my goodness this year is seriously flying by!! Isn't it so crazy how the older you get the faster and faster time goes by. Realizing this has made me want to cherish every moment and really take the time to enjoy the simple things in life! With that being said, its time for my monthly beauty favorites! Ok ok so beauty products probably shouldn't be considered the "simple" things, but they do make me happy and life is all about being happy. Right! :)

1. Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Medium 2 - This is definitely my new favorite bronzer. I have not put this one down since the day I got it! It is so smooth and natural looking and blends into the skin flawlessly. It has no shimmer and does not look muddy on the skin at all. Its great for an everyday bronze and contour!

2. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal- Love, love, love, this highlighter! It is the perfect golden champagne highlight. This product is very pigmented and gives such a great sheen to the skin without being chalky or glittery!

3. Buxom Vanity Lash Mascara- Soooo I'm not going to lie to y'all...yes the main reason I bought this mascara was just because of the cute packaging! haha I have been using this mascara for the last couple of weeks though and really like it! I think it is really cool that you get to choose from 7 different wands. I got the strong and long wand and I do think that it does a great job at lengthening my lashes but I wouldn't say this is my holy grail mascara.

4. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla- I have been using and loving this concealer non stop for my under eye area. It is very creamy and hydrating but does not settle into fine lines. This is also great for brightening up around your eye area and concealing dark circles. Mine is almost out now and I will definitely be repurchasing this product!

5. Benefit Gimme Brow Light/Medium- Ok so if you do not fill in your brows you need to be! I used to be so scared of touching my brows and filling them in because I naturally have thick eyebrows anyways, but it is seriously one of the best things that you can do in your beauty routine! It does not have to look like you just drew them on your face and that is what I love about this product. It makes doing your brows so quick and easy because you simply just brush this through your brows and your done! It has tiny little fibers that thicken your brows and is also tinted to help give the look of fuller brows....and full brows frame your face and are so in right now! Please do not pluck your eyebrows into a skinny little line Please! :) I normally use the Anastasia Brow wiz and set that with this product but when I am running late and in a hurry this is a great one step product!

6. Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in #3- I bought this because I saw it on Jessica Scantlin's (Jessie James makeup artist/ bestie from Jessie and Eric on E!) insatgram @jesssouthern. I seriously love both of them and get so much inspiration from them both (and it doesn't hurt that they are southern girls at heart)! She posted that this is what she had worn in one of her pictures and I loved how it looked so of course I had to run out and get it!! I love nude lipsticks and this one does not disappoint. I love that it is in a crayon form because it makes it so easy to keep in your purse and apply throughout the day. This is a very creamy and pigmented lipstick with a semi-matte/ satin finish so it stays great but does not dry out your lips!

7. Mac Lip Pencil in Boldly Bare- Love this lip pencil and Mac lip pencils in general!! This is a perfect lip pencil to pair with nude lipsticks and I have actually been wearing this alone all over my lips lately for that kind of  Kylie Jenner Lip look.

8. Evian Mineral Water Spray- I bought this when I went back to Texas a couple of weeks ago because I knew that it would be scorching hot and that we would be walking around outside a lot! I wanted to get this so that I could have something to keep in my purse to be able to mist my face with to help cool off and keep my makeup set. This did a great job! It is cooling and refreshing and I have still been using it throughout the day to keep my skin feeling hydrated.

9. Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes- I decided to switch to these the last time that I went to pick up makeup wipes and I am really happy that I did! These have been great at taking off all of my makeup easily at night and do not burn my eyes or irritate my skin. I was using the Simple Makeup Wipes and now that I have been using these I think my skin has actually cleared up a little! I got the night calming version and love them!

10. Last but not least the most important favorite of August is Y'all!! I have just started this journey of blogging and although I haven't yet managed to be able to stick to a good routine with fitting in time for regular blogging I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to read any of my post!! Even if it's just a few people that are reading this I really enjoy sharing my opinions on products that I love and little bits of my life with other people! Hopefully I am able to help someone and connect with new people along the way. :) I would love for you to leave comments if you ever have any questions,  recommendations, or even just to say hi... you do not have to have a blog to comment so please feel free to ask me any questions that you might have below!!

Thank Y'all soooo sooo much for taking the time to stop by!!
