Cowboy Cornbread

This recipe includes two things that most people from the South love...and that's Mexican style food and cornbread! Since I was born and raised in Texas I can never have enough of these two. I look forward to the weekends because my husband and I go to our favorite Mexican restaurant pretty much every single weekend (you can never have enough margaritas, chips, and queso). This recipe is super quick and easy to make (around 30 minutes start to finish) for an easy week day family dinner! My husband is the one who found this recipe on Pinterest one day, but we changed it up a little to make it how we thought would be best....Enjoy!

1lb ground meat
1 can of drained rotel
1 can of ranch style beans drained
1 can of corn drained
1 box of corn bread

Step 1:
Brown ground meat in pan. We seasoned our meat how we normally would with tonys (which is what every person from Louisiana uses for EVERYTHING, I would just use salt and pepper). While the meat is browning read the instructions on the cornbread box and prepare cornbread.

Step 2:
Once the meat is browned add in drained cans of ranch style beans, corn, and rotel.
Let simmer for about ten minutes. While meat is simmering pour entire cornbread mixture into casserole dish as the bottom layer.

Step 3:
Add shredded cheese into the uncooked cornbread mixture and then pour meat mixture on top of the cornbread in the casserole dish. Once you have poured in the meat mixture flatten it out evenly but try not to mix the cornbread mixture in too much with the meat mixture.

Step 4:
Top meat mixture off with shredded cheese as the top layer of the dish. Then cook in the oven for the time and temperature that is stated on the cornbread box (about 15 minutes at 400 degrees). Once it is done take it out, let it cool, and enjoy!!

My cooking sidekick and food taste tester approves!!

Thanks to my hubby for helping prepare this delicious meal!

Favorite Pink Lipsticks

Top Ten  Pink Lipsticks
If you follow me on instagram (which you should be already) then you most likely have noticed that I love me some pink lipstick. Nude pink all the way to hot pink, I'm all about a pink pout. Pink lipstick can go with a bunch of different makeup looks and looks good on every skin tone! Below are some of my most worn pink lipsticks. They range from drugstore to high-end and some of them look very similar in the pictures but when you see them in person they are a shade or two different. Yes you are about to see a whole bunch of kissy "duck face" pictures...and yes it made me feel like an idiot while taking them...and yes my face actually got tired from trying to get good "lip pictures" after about the third one! I'm slowly finding out that trying to share your love of beauty products with the world is actually A LOT harder than it looks! If you don't believe me go ahead and try it for yourself! Anyways I hope you thoroughly enjoy my duck, bird, (whatever they are referred to now) selfies!! :)

One thing that I have learned as I've grown older is to not care so much what others think about you (not that I always succeed at that), but one of the things that you will learn about me is... I am shy but also veryyy silly (my friends call me weird) and I do not take life too seriously...and you shouldn't either so here are a couple of "out takes" to enjoy!! Thanks for stopping by! :)

Eye Creams

I just recently posted about my skincare routine below and realized afterwards that I forgot one of the most important steps, my eye treatments! Taking care of the skin around your eyes is one of the most important things when trying to prevent signs of aging. One of the first places on your face to show wrinkles and signs of diminishing elasticity is around the eyes. To prevent wrinkles, dark circles, and fine lines it is important to keep the skin around the eyes very hydrated. The best approach is starting at a younger age using products to prevent aging instead of waiting until signs of aging appear and then trying to correct the problem. Obviously everybody grows older and shows signs of aging eventually, but most would agree that the longer they can prevent those wrinkles and crows feet from appearing the better!

My two favorite eye creams for this right now are the Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream and the Origins GinZing. The Bobbi Brown eye cream is very hydrating and great at giving that extra needed moisture to help plump the fine lines and help re-hydrate the eye area. This is the eye cream that I use at night because it is very creamy and leaves my eye area feeling soft and smooth. In the morning I absolutely can not live without the Origins ginzing. It's pretty much the only thing that I look forward too when first waking up to help me feel awake (I'm definitely not a morning person). This eye cream actually contains a bit of caffeine that helps to de-puff and reduce dark circles to get rid of those bags under the eyes! It is also a brightening eye cream to help make you look refreshed and awake after a long night. On the mornings that I am really feeling exhausted and can hardly open my eyes with the light of my bathroom I will instantly reach for this Clinique all about eyes rollerball. It feels amazing to roll this across your under eyes in the morning because it is cooling and refreshing and also contains caffeine to help wake up and reduce puffiness around the eyes. These are the eye creams that have been working great for me lately, but I am sure once I run out of these I will be getting a new one to try just because I am a product junkie and always have to try new things!

Hope you enjoyed! Leave a comment below with your favorite eye cream... I love hearing what other people are loving!
